Old version of notes on iPhone overwrote newer version on websit

I did a ToodleDo-->Device sync to my phone on 12/19 to get a new note onto the phone. Somehow the older versions of my notes from the phone (from 4 weeks ago or so) overwrote the much newer version on the ToodleDo site. Is there a way to recover my more current notes and basically undo the sync/overwrite? If not this is a huge app error that just cost me a lot of work. I definitely did not do a Device->ToodleDo sync if anyone asks.
