I've been using the 'n' keyboard shortcut to quickly enter new tasks, but just realized I'd been ignoring the Quick Add feature (keyboard shortcut 'q'). It's much quicker to enter tasks this way, but there are several issues you may wish to consider.
For one, the help page for keyboard shortcuts doesn't mention Quick Add at all (it does say that 'n' allows you to quick add tasks, but that's a bit misleading). An easy fix is to add this shortcut to your help page. The second issue is a bit larger of a task, but you may be able to use code you already have elsewhere. In particular, the syntax for this task differs from the text syntax for email processing. It would be great if they used the same syntax, as the email one is more intuitive and powerful. In particular, the Quick Add syntax allows you to enter /<string>, where <string> can be due date, context, or folder. The email syntax allows you to enter something like {Pick up package @errand !!! #tomorrow %ebay}. |
