Missing goal

I have had a goal for sometime that today has gone missing. Because it is synced to Outlook (via Gsync) I know it's exact name so I try to add the goal again and I get a message that the goal already exists. It doesn't appear in the Goal view or on any of the selectors though tasks that have that goal show it.
In short the goal is there but I cannot see or select it.
Is there a rebuild or database check utility that can be run?

It sounds like you marked the goal as "Archived". Try clicking the "Show Archived Goals" link at the bottom of the goal organize page.
