IOS Alarms don't seem to activate

I'm setting up a really simple task on my iPhone 4S, running iOS 10.1.1. I set an alarm and it simply doesn't pop up. Other alarms (that I created for tasks weeks or days ago) are working, but this test one was set ten minutes ago, only had the task title, today's date, time (10 mins later) and an alarm due to go off 1 minute earlier.
I left Toodledo and my phone screen locked after a few minutes, but no alarm was displayed.
What could be the problem?

10 minutes into the future may not be long enough for the alarm to be scheduled, synced and then sent and received. Try something a little further into the future and let us know if you still have trouble.
