Missing tasks

I am missing several tasks. I believe they were all below level 3. And I haven't been poking around and trying to do new things . . . just entering and updating tasks.
Any suggestions?
Can I go back to a date in time?

Have you done a all tasks search? Or, if you remember certain attributes, a Search based solely on those attributes?
Finally, if there are too many tasks to be useful to find those few, do the All Tasks search, then use Control F browser search for key words.
