How to automatically view parent tasks at same time as subtasks

I ideally would like to be able to see the parent task each time i see see a subtask. I use my parent tasks as projects and need to see these when i open a view as well as the subtask to know which project its realted too.
I know you can click on the tree to see this but ideally want it to be done automiatically.
Any help would be most appreciated.
