Fixed my task jumping with $75 minimonitor and chrome plugin

I have severe ADHD. The hardest part isn't remembering what I need to do; Toodledo handles that. It's staying on one thing once I start. I task jump constantly. I'll open a task, notice an email, jump to that, remember something else, and an hour later I'm three things deep and the original task is still sitting there. Simple tasks that should take 15 minutes can take me hours, not because they're hard, but because I keep losing the thread. So I bought a 10" monitor and mounted it right under my main screen. Then I built a small Chrome/Brave extension that works with the Toodledo website to show what I'm working on right now. Here's how it works: When I hit play on a task's timer in Toodledo, the extension notices and opens a full screen window on the small monitor. It shows the task name in huge letters, the folder, and a big running clock that includes any time I already logged on that task in earlier sessions. Now when I catch myself drifting, I just glance down. The task I'm supposed to be doing is sitting right there, with the clock ticking. That one glance pulls me back more often than not. A few other things it does: Pause and Done buttons right on the small screen. They click the actual buttons in Toodledo, so my logged time stays accurate and the task gets checked off for real. Quick Add. If something pops into my head mid-task, I can type it into the little screen and it goes straight into Toodledo's Quick Add. It's captured and out of my head, and I don't have to leave what I'm doing to chase it. There's also an "Add & start" option if the new thing really does need to happen now. A clock after I finish. When I complete a task, the screen stays up and starts counting the time since I finished. If I've been wandering for 20 minutes between tasks, I see it. Celebrations. Every completed task triggers a random 5 second celebration: fireworks, confetti cannons, balloons, a trophy, a row of stick figures jumping for joy, a stadium wave, and a few more. It sounds silly, but that little hit of reward for finishing actually helps my brain want to finish the next one. It all runs locally in my browser off the Toodledo web page, and I start and stop everything the same way I always have in Toodledo. The only difference is that my current task is now always in front of me instead of buried in a tab. If you struggle with focus the way I do, I can't recommend this enough. Even without the extension, a small second screen showing nothing but your current task is a surprisingly powerful anchor.
