Currently Toodledo does not support ROLES (e.g. Author, Friend, Spouse, etc.)

Currently, I treat ROLES as Lifelong Goals and that works pretty well, but I could see how a short-term or long-term goal could contribute to more than one lifelong goal, especially if you are using lifelong goals to track contributions to various roles.

It would be nice to have the option to have a less-than-lifetime goals contribute to more than one lifetime goal.

I'd love to see that too. I also use lifetime goals for roles (among other things). A slick version of Roles that would integrate nicely with goals would be really helpful when I do my weekly review.

Maybe not what you're looking for , but I use folders for that .
Works great for me , click on a tab see everything associated with that role or " areas of focus " as david allen calls them .

I am thoroughly enjoying Toodledo and am busy setting up my system. I am upgrading my account to take advantage of sub-tasks because I want to set my system up based on the following:

Goals = Goals
Folders = Roles
Tasks = Projects
Subtasks = Tasks
Contexts = Locations
Statuses = Status
Tags = Contacts

While working with my Goals I decided to use the Lifelong Goals as Goal Categories to represent the six life areas of goal setting:

Family and Home
Financial and Career
Spiritual and Ethical
Physical and Health
Social and Cultural
Mental and Educational

I'm setting Long-term and Short-term goals which link to the above categories. It is really nice seeing everything come together so nicely in one program!

I wondered why there is an Archived column - I actually thought it said Achieved! LOL! It would be nice to review "achieved goals" versus "archived goals."

I think that would be great as well. Most of my short term goals are school related and have a definite end time.
