How does the XML-Export feature works? It seems that the <parent> - Tag is not generated during the export, even if I used subtasks.

We don't currently have a way to export the task->subtask relationship. All tasks and subtasks are exported flattened out. We hope to improve this in a future update.

Is there a wass to backup the complete stucture of my tasklist in a different way?

There is currently no way to backup the complete parent/subtask structure. You can backup all of your tasks flattened out, but the parent/subtask relationship is not exported yet. This is high on our priority list.

The XML export was updated a few weeks ago, and it does now preserve the parent/subtask hierarchy. See here: http://www.toodledo.com/forums/1/2222/-11034/read.html
