I have tried to change the filter to nest the subtasks, but it doesn't seem to work. Help, please!

Nested subtasks work a little differently in the app than they do on the website. In the iPhone app, you have to click on the parent task, and then scroll to the bottom of the task details page. There you will see how many subtasks the parent has. Tap on that, and you will get to the subtasks themselves.
