Hello all,
Being a sort of ADHD person most of my life and struggling with management of tasks, the Franklin ABC123 system really help me out early on. I've always looked for a good digital system to replicate that, and I moved over to Toodledo in 2011. So I've been able to put together a very easy, workable Franklin-based system in Toodledo. Here's how it works. 1. To start off you want to be in the TASK section from the upper left drop down. 2. I use Folders for different projects, like having different rooms to go into where the tasks are (Personal, Business, Home, etc). You can certainly just use one folder for everything like your 'Main Street'. 3. Once you have a couple of folders set up, next comes to setting up the ABC123 system so that when you're adding tasks or sub tasks they are sortable based on the Franklin process. What I do is I use the GOALS as the place to set up the ABC123. 3.1 - Go to the upper right of the screen pull down and select Organize, then Goals. 3.2 - In the drop-down select Short-term. 3.3 - In the space where it says 'New Goal', type in 'A1', then hit the 'Add Goal' button. 3.4 - Repeat the process; A2, A3, A4, A5, etc. 3.5 - Note: I put in A1 to A10, then I did B1 through B10, then I added in C1 through C10. This gives you the range to be able to employ the Franklin system easily to tasks and re-sort as you go day to day. 3.6 - Once you've completed setting up all of the goals using the ABC123 format, you can go back to the main page. 4. Now in the upper right side of the main page you want to set up the SORT in the following method. 4.1 - First sort, select Folders, and select the up arrow. 4.2 - Second sort, select Goals, with the up arrow. 4.3 - Third sort, select Goals again, with the up arrow. 5. Now in the main screen columns, I have the following set up visible as named columns from left to right. 1st: Goal, 2nd: Task, (from there you can add any other Items you want like 'start date' and 'due date' etc. With the goals column first you'll be able to see the ABC123. With the task column you'll be able to see what the task is. 6. Now you are set up to add your first task. Note; when adding your first main task, you want to go into the goal section during setup and select which ABC123 you want. Now going forward all main tasks and subtasks you want to select the goal you want. If you have five tasks set up for the day and you want to change or restart the order all you have to do is change the goal on the task. I wish there was a way to add screenshots to this post which would make it a little bit easier to visualize. This is just been a way that I've been able to incorporate the ABC123 into Toodledo using goals. The goals are always there as part of the main structure of Toodledo, so it makes it easy. - Steve This message was edited Sep 25, 2025. |
