Miscellaneous characters appearing in Outlook tasks

Hi
Each time there is a sync, miscellaneous characters attach themselves to my hyperlink and in the process disables the function of the hyperlink.
For example, <\\Ser-002\Finance\Meetings\Fin Minutes 09_08_18 Year End PWC.doc> where the characters < & the > appear.
Also hyperlinks duplicate themselves, eg. HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" HYPERLINK "http://www.msdn.com" www.msdn.com
I really enjoy the app except for these annyoing issues.

I still get the funny characters in the Tasks, eg. <\\Ser-002\Legal\Employees\John Leung employment contract Exit v2.DOC>
